Non Cash Gifts

Giving strategic non-cash gifts can have multiple benefits for Teen Esteem+, you, and potentially your heirs. Whatever gift method you choose can be very rewarding. It is wonderful to see your gift made from an asset with appreciated value at work on behalf of young people, while enjoying related tax benefits as well. As you consider any of the following gift strategies, please consider seeking advice from your financial advisors.

  • Benefits

    • A flexible vehicle for annual charitable giving.

    • A cost-efficient alternative to forming a private foundation.

    • A charitable income tax deduction in the year of your DAF gift.

    • Assets in your DAF grow tax-free.

How to help Teen Esteem+ with a DAF recommendation:

    1. You make an initial, irrevocable gift of cash or stock to fund a DAF at a sponsoring organization.

    2. Make annual recommendations on gifts to be made from your DAF.

    3. Some DAFs allow you to set up a recurring annual donation so that you do not need to remember to do that each year. This also qualifies you to be a member of our recurring donor club, Game Changers.

    1. Make a stock donation by using the StockDonator feature on our website: Click here.

  • If you are 70½ years old or older, you can take advantage of a simple way to benefit Teen Esteem+ and receive tax benefits in return. You can give any amount up to $100,000 per year from your IRA directly to Teen Esteem+ without having to pay income taxes on the money. This popular gift option is known as a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) and is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover.

Benefits of your IRA charitable rollover gift:

    • Avoid taxes on transfers of up to $100,000 from your IRA to Teen Esteem+.

    • May satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.

    • Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions.

    • Make a gift that is not subject to the deduction limits on charitable gifts.

How to help Teen Esteem+ with an IRA rollover:

    1. Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to Teen Esteem+.

    2. Your IRA funds will be directly sent to our organization to help continue our important work.

    3. Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction.

    4. Notify Natalie Brown, Director of Development, at natalie@teenesteem.org when you initiate your gift to streamline gift processing.
